5 Tropical Destinations for Your Next Vacation

If you hate winters or live in a dry, cold climate, then you’re more than aware of the beauty of the tropics. Tropical weather is balmy, mild, and quite sunny, so it’s the perfect escape from the cold north where the air hurts your face. Check out these excellent tropical locations for your next vacation.

Harbour Island, Bahamas

The Bahamas are among some of the best Caribbean islands. Harbour Island is roughly 5.25 square miles, and the beaches are made up of pink sand and vibrant turquoise waters. You can rent a golf cart and adventure around Dunmore Town; check out the old colonial houses, and discover different restaurants, shops, and boutiques.

In the Bahamas, you’re surrounded by water and beaches, and you don’t want to miss out on any of that action. The pink sand beach is, by far, one of the Bahamas’ most remarkable attractions; soak up the sun, read a book, and admire the beauty. Don’t forget to hit the water and scope out some sea turtles from a boat or on a scuba diving trip.

Kauai, Hawaii

When considering tropical vacations, it’s impossible to ignore Hawaii. Kauai is an incredible place to celebrate and appreciate culture and history and one of the best ways to see the island is simply Kauai helicopter tours. This island has everything you’re looking for, from ancient Hawaiian villages to waterfalls and canyons.

Adventure about the trails and beach of Na Pali Coast State Park, or visit the largest Pacific canyon, Waimea Canyon. Whatever sights you choose to see, Kauai is sure to impress you with gorgeous colors, dramatic cliff faces, and archeological sites.

Fiji

Fiji draws you in with its warm, soft sands and stunning waters. In this setting, you can enjoy a lazy day on the beach, or you can take a trip out to the water and snorkel with rays or go scuba diving. Other activities include visiting art or history museums, investigating the food scene, and visiting flower gardens.

A great way to appreciate Fiji’s culture and history is to watch a firewalking ceremony. This ceremony originated from a person convincing a spirit god to allow him to walk across scalding hot rocks forever. It is said that this ability is passed down through his bloodline. Many resorts put on firewalking ceremonies frequently, so check one out to get a good taste of Kauai’s culture.

Isla Mujeres, Mexico

This Mexican island is the perfect destination for a tropical getaway. Like the previously mentioned locations, this island has some gorgeous beaches, where you can chill in the warm sunshine or take a dip in the ocean. To add to the fun, check out Parque De Los Suenos, a beach club with access to several pools and, of course, the beach.

While staying on the island, be sure to observe the MUSA Underwater Sculpture Park. This park is one of the largest underwater sculptures in the world, and it can only be seen on a scuba diving or snorkeling expedition. The sculpture garden was initially designed as an artificial reef, and it’s been doing its job quite well. Coral and other sea life have adjusted quite nicely.

Bora Bora, French Polynesia

Bora Bora is packed with fun things to do. Some of the most popular activities to enjoy include snorkeling, scuba diving, and 4X4 excursions across the island.

Spend a few hours on a snorkeling safari; seek out eco sharks and stingrays, swim with them, and possibly feed them. However, if snorkeling isn’t quite your speed, get a view of the sea life from above by taking the Bora Bora Glass Bottom Boat Tour.

If you’d prefer to stay off the water completely, Bora Bora also has many land excursions to offer. Hop on a 4X4 and adventure around Bora Bora’s dormant volcano, or go on a cultural island tour. Embark on another 4X4 trip by taking a safari and enjoying lunch by the ocean.

These tropical getaways are just some of the numerous different locations worldwide. Whether you hit the beach or set out on a land expedition, these are some of the best places to relax and have the time of your life.
